Ferme Sol
Wakefield, Québec
Ginger Howell’s mission is to reconnect people to the land, the animals, and products that can support our well-being, and contribute to re-vitalizing our ecosystems.
In the summer, her ewes are entirely fed on pasture, and carefully moved from one pasture to the next to give the land time to rest and regenerate. This natural rhythm helps build healthier soil, prevents the overgrazing of native species, and supports a thriving ecosystem without the need for chemicals.
Ginger’s sheep are special as she carefully bred them to improve wool quality over time. You will notice that each fleece is different, as we see crosses between East Friesian, Gotland, Icelandic, Shetland, and British Dairy Sheep.
